The blood bank refrigerator is conventionally used to store blood safely and securely for a specified period of time at 4°C. Normally the alarm temperatures are set at 2°C and 6°C below and above which the storage of blood is not advised. However this is seen as a very routine instrumentation. We often tend to take the blood bank refrigerator as simple as another conventional house hold refrigerator, which is not the case, and far from the truth. Here in fact the refrigerator used for the purpose of storing blood should be very safe, maintain a constant temperature, with minimum gradient variation , ACCURATELY AND PRECISELY and providing safest environment for the blood stored.

We beg to differ FUNDAMENTALLY in many different ways from the rest of the manufacturers of blood bank refrigerator, with our blood storage machine.

  1. We do not create a problem and claim to solve it elegantly and we simply avoid it while designing.
  2. No manual or auto defrost, which inherently increases the temperature in chamber from 4°C when fully loaded, to even 12°C, and often beyond set alarm conditions. Our design circumvents need for auto defrost, nip in the bud.
  3. There was no need for us to follow conventional path, by using metal chambers inside and outside even after knowing to be good conductors of heat and employ special insulation material to reduce heat exchange between 4°C and ambient of 25 or 30°C .
  4. The thermal conductivity of present chamber material (or metal) used is between 19 and 65 W/mk‘C’ as against unique approach taken by us with body made of material with 2 to 4 W/mk only, and 10 to 16 times poor conductors.
  5. We also are doing away with the current exotic insulation stuff, which is effective but not environmentally friendly and in fact toxic and not biodegradable and above all dangerous for humans and animal and CARCINOGENIC!
  6. Instead employ environmentally VERY friendly, insulation material closely matching the current material used by the rest OVERALL, and biodegradable, yes also environmentally friendly.
  7. The controller, heart of the system (used by almost all manufacturers are, bought out off the shelf and “ready made” and hence cheap (inexpensive) but adapted to what is available, as standard with the ‘readymade’ controller, and not what are all essential features posing severe limitations.
  8. Our time tested controller is conceived, designed and implemented by our team and original, with freedom to incorporate all that is needed for total control of the system and not limited.
  9. Most refrigerators offer conventional bland shelves or racks or at best telescopic drawer for storage, bringing with its all inconvenience of very little breathing space for blood bags, stacked one over the other as with row houses , severely restricting air circulation only to one side of the bags and other side allowed to choke.
  10. Our design (sensible but optional, in deference to wishes of buyers !! ) offers full freedom for the bags to breath evenly and freely on all sides including top and bottom no exception, thanks to “suspended animation” method of preservation providing all the freedom for breathing space for the bags all the time during entire storage period.
  11. Most systems have least to offer by way of energy saving or environmentally friendly solution.
  12. We are GREEN all the way in every way with every one of our machines starting with chamber, refrigeration engine, refrigerants, material used for insulation, absence of almost nil consumables for recording( option), minimal or no soldering welding, or brazing - special design all the way enhancing reliability , and also saving almost over 30% on energy.
  13. The differences in insulation (no puf), variable speed compressor, micro channel condenser, variable speed fans, refrigerants with LOWEST ODP AND GWP , free air flow with louvre (option ), special insulated doors, reference container mimicking blood for precise temperature control and with minimum gradient .
  14. Many of the features incorporated above with appropriate assemblies and sub assemblies ensure reliable performance, significant energy saving while enhancing ideal conditions for the storage of the precious material called blood.

Note:

The above information is primarily related to building chambers with refrigeration with volumes varying between 100 to 1000 litres, and for various temperature ranging from +4°C to -80°C , to function at an ambient of 32°C and including appropriate variations and modifications as applicable for different application needs.
